in the classroom...
After The Audition

You have finished your audition and on your way home. Relax and put it out of your mind. Do not worry about how you did. The audition is over. If you were well prepared, which I hope you will be, then there is nothing you have to worry about. Do your best the first time. That way the only thing you will have to worry about is which offer, of many, you are going to accept!

Following up
Hey! The audition is not over. "What?!" You scream. Yeah, the audition is not over. When you get home write a follow-up letter, then follow my advice above. This is where remembering their names comes in handy!!! Write a short letter thanking the auditors for their time and instruction, if any. Point out something interesting about the program that you had spoken about with them. Make it brief and to the point. Do not send a handwritten letter, use that fabulous computer that you are using right now and make it look professional. Represent yourself all the way with professionalism and you will go far.

Now you can sit back and relax, knowing that you have done the best audition ever. The school will send you a letter in the weeks to come concerning your admission status. Do not lose hope if you are rejected. There are a lot of schools out there and hopefully you did your homework and set up more than one audition.
